Somebody watches from the Cork District Asylum

I often wonder if it would bother me to be having breakfast in the same room that use to detain individuals diagnosed with mental illness up to 30 years ago. I’d probably just shrug my shoulders and happily continue eating in blissful ignorance. So far, half of Our Lady’s Hospital ( or St Ann’s Hospital ) in Cork City has already been converted into apartments,  the remnants of its past is slowly being concealed under a new coat of paint. While the renovation is still on-going, the small golden painted figurines on the hospital grounds still keep Cork City under their watchful gaze.
