Taking photos on a still camera may be a challenge but developing them takes it to a whole new level. The process itself not only boils down to having the right chemicals but being well aware of the temperature and timing of the process. And that’s not addressing how you get the film inside a developing canister or how you go about cleaning and drying it. The process overall can be very unforgiving if you make any mistakes.
My 2nd attempt fared a lot better than my first ( at which point I didn’t get past attaching the film on to the reel properly ). I had bought cheap film to test ( Lucky SDH 100 ), using a Fotospeed developer ( FD10 ) at a dilution of 1+14 for about 14 minutes at 20 – 21 degree Celsius. The film was incredibly sensitive to dust and scratches, and it curls, a lot.
Aside from those minor issues, I was quite satisfied with old look of the film and for that purpose I didn’t bother removing the dust and other particles from the film.
