HDR: George Boole’s House in Cork

At 5 Grenville Place in Cork City lies a seemingly insignificant and forgotten looking building, upon closer inspection a plaque displayed at the front of the house proves otherwise. It reads as follows:

George Boole

1815-1864

Mathematician, Inventor of Boolean Algebra, Professor of Mathematics, Queens College ( Now U.C.C ). He live here from 1849 to 1855.

The man who was regarded as the founder of the field of Computer Science used to live here, which is pretty cool in a geek sense. The building is undergoing renovation since March 2011, with Cork City Council spending €135,000 on the restoration work.
